Hino Isando, a company in the Super Group stable, has won the Hino Dealer of the Year title for the second time, taking the honours for 2025. The prestigious award was handed over to Bobby Pringle, the Dealer Principal, at the Sandton Convention Centre recently. This also marks only the second time in the 38 year history of Super Group that the coveted award has gone to one of its dealers.
The dealership in Isando is one of the largest Hino dealers in South Africa with sales of 330 trucks last year, which was more than 10.5% of the 3 178 trucks retailed by Hino in the local market in 2025. Hino Isando is currently the only Hino dealership in Super Group. It is also comparatively young, having been established in 2015.
“We changed our strategy last year to put even more focus on the customer experience,” explained Pringle, a person who has been involved in the local automotive industry for almost 30 years.
“We concentrated on establishing holistic offerings to our fleet clients by offering - and selling - the full scope of products available from Hino South Africa which includes a variety of vehicle specifications, service and maintenance plans as well as finance facilities. In fact, we won the CEO award from Hino Financial Services with a market share of 40% for the year. By doing this we were able to increase our touch points with our clients.
“We continued to offer exceptional client service, and this is evident in our very high customer satisfaction scoring. One of my key focus areas was to ensure our staff are fully aligned with our business goals. I am very proud to say we have a highly motivated team that all work together to ensure the business continues to show consistent growth. As one of my close friends always says: ‘Teamwork makes the dream work’.
“Another key point is that without our experience and committed management team and staff doing their jobs to the best of their ability we would not be in the position that we are. Happy, motivated and highly trained staff are key to the success of our business,” commented Pringle.
“I would also like to say that without assistance from Hino South Africa including the guidance and direction of Anton Falck, the Hino SA Vice President, and his head office team, we would not have been able to shift our focus so quickly to become totally customer centric in aftersales.
“We are also proud to be part of the Super Group’s family of dealerships with strong and decisive leadership from Graeme Watson and the entire team at the Dealerships Division,” added Pringle.
“Bobby Pringle is a true Hino ambassador and exemplifies the very best of what it means to represent the Hino brand,” said Leon Theron, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing at Toyota SA Motors, at the awards ceremony.
“He recognises exceptional performance, unwavering commitment and the drive to advance the Hino brand in what was a highly competitive and demanding year. This achievement is no coincidence as the recipient has demonstrated consistent effort, genuine passion and dedication to our customers and played a pivotal role in strengthening Hino’s performance in 2025,” concluded Theron.
