Hino SA is enjoying strong interest in its products which were exhibited at the 2014 Nampo agricultural show in Bothaville.
“We used the show to preview our new 500-Series 2626 long-wheelbase freight carrier as well as to promote Hino’s winning achievements in the comparative test between four major brands of medium commercial vehicles conducted by a local transport magazine earlier this year,” explained Hino SA vice president Ernie Trautmann.
The Hino 2626 6x2 is an ideal vehicle for the versatile transport requirements of large agricultural operations with excellent load carrying capacity (26 000kg GVM) and an economical power train while enjoying the support of a countrywide dealer network which has now grown to 62 outlets, many of which are well situated to service rural customers.
The Hino 300-Series, which has been a leader in the local MCV market virtually since its introduction to the SA market as the Toyota Dyna in 1965, fared particularly well in the MCV comparison test run over three legs, which included driving laden and unladen between Hartebeesport and Belfast and a test session at the Gerotek facility.
The overall winner was the Hino 300-Series 915, which competed in the 8/9-ton GVM class. It not only came out as the most fuel efficient truck in its class but was also the overall winner in both the payload and productivity categories. The 915 truck on show at Nampo was suitably adorned with a huge red rosette – the sign of a winner.
The Hino 300-Series 714, competing in the 6/7-ton GVM category, also fared very well in the comparison test, coming out best in class in terms of both payload and productivity.
“Hino has a long history of involvement with the South African farming community and its parent company, Toyota South Africa, was in fact built on the back of introducing commercial vehicles to this country before adding passenger vehicles to the range,” added Trautmann.
“Hino therefore values the support it enjoys from the agricultural sector and as such we have been long and loyal supporters of the iconic Nampo Show. As mentioned earlier we are again very satisfied with the response to our latest display and interaction with the local farming community and are sure it will generate additional sales.”
